Most people meet their life partners in school especially in the tertiary institutions or others right from the First cycle or Second cycle institutions, others meet them when they enter the Corporate World, but what if your life partner did not get the opportunity to go all the schools you attended or better still has little or no education at all. But trust me, he is not doing badly at all- he is currently setting up his own business to make ends meet but the problem is the man never gets his expressions right, his diction is terrible and and his tenses, the least said about them , the better and yet you love him very much, you guys understand each other and get along pretty well, isn't that what a relationship is all about?
But it's your friends and family they do not understand why a woman with a 2nd Degree in Corporate Communications - (the irony) is doing with a man who has " only" a Senior Secondary School Certificate.
Seroiusly, would you typically date someone who is in a 'lower social class'than you are- in terms of education ?

ReplyDeletelike you rightfully said they understand each other and to me that's all that matters
ReplyDeleteMokocharlie- talk is cheap- there is always a complex along the way
ReplyDeleteYou have to think about urself first but remember also that marriage is a union between two families and not two individuals. At this point you need to consider your family because if they do not approve of him at the onset, you will never have your piece of mind and your marriage might be troubled. Talk is cheap. Me,if i get into such a situation and i believe we love and understand each other, why not? But till it happens....
ReplyDeleteI think if two people are not just blinded by romantic bliss, but truly love and understand eachother and can agree that all challenges must and would be met with peace and harmony in mind, then surely they can display to concerned relatives that their love can weather the storm and even flourish. After all, that'd be my only concern for a relative or loved one who finds love and wants to marry. Will they make it?And if by our unbiassed insight, they display qualities of a good couple in thier own way,why not?"Let them marry" said the Appostle Paul. It's about two hearts becoming one...social classes are just artificial means of controlling human nature and I believe anyone who can think beyond that perspective would surely be able to master complexes with time and sincere effort...
